Exergetic performance analysis of low GWP alternative refrigerants for R404A in a refrigeration system

Abstract According to the regulation of European Union laws in 2014, it was inevitable switch low global warming potential (GWP) fluids refrigeration systems where R404A working fluid is currently used. The GWP very high, and for ozone depletion zero. In this study, energetic exergetic performance assessment a theoretical system carried out R404 refrigerant its alternatives, comparatively. analyses were made R448A, R449A, R452A R404A. results analysis presented separately tables graphs. results, cooling with R448A exhibited best coefficient (COP) value 2.467 within alternatives followed by R449A R452A, COP values calculated as 2.419 2.313, respectively. addition, exergy efficiencies 20.62%, 20.22% 19.33% For base calculations R404A, estimated 2.477, efficiency 20.71%. Under same operating conditions, total destruction rates found be 3.201 kW, 3.217 3.298 kW 3.488 Furthermore, parametric order investigate effects different parameters such evaporator condenser temperature.
